Our Mission

SLYFC is a non-profit football program; our goal is to develop character and create success on and off the playing field. As our players and cheerleaders are learning the skills of playing football and cheerleading, they will be taught values associated with being a good citizen, a good student and a good teammate. These values will assist them in their lives as students and beyond. Success will be achieved through planning, believing, and executing the goals of the Lakers Football and Cheer Programs. We believe “success” is a process that starts at the very beginning of a football player’s and cheerleader’s development. We do not measure success on a scoreboard, but by the development of our players. SLYFC is a development league; therefore, developing the fundamentals of the game and developing character will always be a higher priority than wins and losses.
